Alyssa Roig holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Studio Art from Carlow University and a Master of Art in Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler University.

As someone who enjoys learning, Roig loves working in the counseling field, which is constantly growing and changing. It allows them to expand their skills and knowledge.

Art has always been a passion of theirs and they have witnessed the power art therapy has to provide healing and processing as a form of therapy. Roig enjoys watching clients grow and utilize the skills they have learned in sessions to better themselves and reach their full potential.

Growing up in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, it was hard for Roig to freely express themself as a non-binary queer person. They experienced a lot of shame and internalized hate for who they were. It only got better after they began seeing an art therapist who helped them learn to love and accept themself. After many years of processing through their identities, Roig wanted to provide that same service to others to allow individuals to feel free and love who they are.

Roig offers a safe space for everyone and has many years of experience helping individuals reach their therapeutic goals. They focus heavily on Adlerian theories and CBT. As a therapist, they take a person-centered approach in recognizing that each person is unique and has many different needs. They have the skills and knowledge in providing transgender clients with gender affirmation letters needed for surgery.

In their free time Roig enjoys creating art, spending time with their two dalmatians, and going on adventures with their partner of 10 years. They are also a huge soccer fanatic and have traveled around the world to watch some of their favorite teams play.
