Dr. Amanda Jensen is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Florida and specializes in Positive Psychology, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered approaches, and Schema-Oriented Therapy.
The passion for helping people led Dr. Jensen to a vocation in clinical psychology. She completed her doctorate and master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Minnesota Professional School of Psychology. She gained her B.A. in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where she held several leadership roles in the psychology program such as President and VP of Psychology Club and Psi Chi (honors society), respectively.
Dr. Jensen has a diverse set of clinical, teaching, and consulting experiences in clinical, non-profit, and professional settings. In her professional and training roles, Dr. Jensen has provided forensic assessment and consultation services to several counties in Minnesota; conducted neuropsychological and cognitive testing in hospitals; provided psychotherapy and stress management training to individuals of all ages in psychiatric, Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and college university settings; and consulted to various leaders and organizations (both public and private sector) in the areas of employee selection assessment, career development, and coaching, talent strategy, and performance management. Amanda also has teaching experience with young children and college students and low-income women at the Jeremiah Program in Minneapolis (non-profit). She has facilitated individual and group therapy at a drug and alcohol treatment center, and most recently completed her post-doctoral residency at the University of Florida, Department of Psychiatry where she worked with individuals of all ages, as well as couples and families.
Amanda’s primary areas of interest include child development; psychological assessment and therapy with individuals of all ages; treatment of anxiety disorders, substance addictions, and depression; couples therapy; health and wellness; spirituality; and partnering with leaders and organizations to strengthen their personnel selection, employee development, and talent strategy.
Away from the office, Amanda loves spending time with her friends and family when possible and serving at church. Her other interests include participating in athletic events, traveling, nature and pets, and snorkeling/scuba diving.
