Ms. Antoinette Winters is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas.
Ms. Winters received her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan with a concentration in Psychology. Following graduating she has worked with diverse groups of the population including family preservation wrap-around programs for at-risk children, case management for adults and children who suffer from mental illness for over 7 years. She then decided to pursue and obtain her Master of Science degree in Clinical Social Work at Michigan State University graduating with honors as a Phi Alpha.
Additionally, Antoinette went on to engage in an intensive Home-Based family counseling field for severely mentally ill children. She has worked with various populations providing crisis interventions to military service members experiencing PTSD, suicidal ideation, transgender identity, and unresolved grief issues.
Antoinette has also worked with foster children suffering from mental health issues including bipolar, reactive attachment, anxiety, and depression. She has an extensive history of working with adults who suffer from PTSD, complex childhood trauma, and severe anxiety and depression.
Furthermore, she loves working with the LGBTQ community in addressing issues sensitive to their needs, such as increasing gender identity issues and body dysmorphia. Antoinette is trained in Cognitive Behavioral therapy and she educates her clients on how our thoughts connect with our feelings and result in helpful or unhelpful behaviors. In Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, she uses skills-building techniques and EMDR therapy to help change maladaptive memories to adaptive memories and also learn healthier ways to live a fulfilling life.
She is very gifted and extremely passionate in the area of making authentic connections with whatever population she has served and believes that if given the right tools and support, people can change for the better. Her favorite quote is “Transformation happens through effort and transition”.
Antoinette enjoys spending time with her close friends and family. She enjoys traveling, is an avid reader, enjoys concerts, comedy shows, learning about different cultures, and trying different ethnic foods. She is dedicated and committed to learning from others as others learn from her. Antoinette is happy seeing people gain and develop in healing from their past and being the best version of themselves for the present and the future.
