Asma is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both North Carolina and New York State. She is bilingual speaking both fluent English and Arabic and is very familiar with diversity issues.

Asma obtained her Masters of Science from Columbia University School of Social Work. She was awarded a full scholarship with Columbia University and Open Society Foundations due to her impressive work and activism in health and mental health in the Middle East. Throughout her career, she worked with individuals, children, and families in diverse clinical settings. Asma worked with complex populations in New York and North Carolina for years.

Asma’s approach is strength-based and client-centered. She believes, from experience, that clients have something very solid in them that can be built upon to move one step forward. The therapeutic journey is personalized for every one of her clients. She is proficient at implementing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing among other evidence-based treatment modalities.

Asma is passionate about working with clients with depression and anxiety, couples counseling, and individuals experiencing grief, loss, disability, and medical crises.

Asma provides a safe space for clients to express themselves, overcome challenges, create the change they want, and achieve the wellness they need to live fully.
