Mrs. Barbie Lopez is a bilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida.

Mrs. Lopez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Florida International University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University.

I have over 10 years of experience providing therapy in both outpatient and inpatient settings. I continuously work with various psychotherapeutic modalities for the overall wellness of my clients, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, social anxiety, emotional wellbeing, life changes, relationship issues, interpersonal skills, bipolar disorder, and substance abuse disorder. I have experience in working with clients from age 5 to late adulthood.

I have a varied and eclectic counseling approach in order to provide my clients with the best care to fit their needs. However, I do have vast experience in the Client-Centered Approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-focused techniques, among others. I strongly believe that trust and a positive therapeutic relationship needs to be established in order for clients to move forward. My goal is to empower each of my clients to make the changes they wish to make while being supportive and nonjudgmental.

I would describe myself as compassionate, straightforward, and a firm believer that everyone has the power to better themselves. I also believe that self-care is essential which I recommend and practice. When I am not helping others I partake in yoga, meditation, gardening, reading, spending time outdoors, and the ocean.
I look forward to working with you!
