Mr. Billy D. Huey is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in the state of Texas.

Mr. Huey received his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&I University and his master’s degree in counseling from Wayland Baptist University.

Billy has worked in both mental health and intellectual developmental disability services for the past 15 years. He has served as the director of a men’s intensive residential treatment unit for chemical dependency as well as the mental health services coordinator for a facility for civilly committed sex offenders. He has also served as the director of Adult Intensive Outpatient services for the local mental health authority. Currently, he is a therapist working both in private practice and in an Intensive Outpatient chemical dependency program. His passion is to provide those who are suffering from mental illness or pervasive emotional disturbance with the skills and tools they need to manage their illness, overcome or cope with emotional difficulties, and live optimally.

When he is not counseling others, he spends time refreshing himself through reading, writing and studying the works of others. He enjoys spending time with his wife and the one son he has left at home. He is a big fan of talk radio and cartoons because they provide him with a bit of laughter and catharsis. What makes him happy is knowing that every day brings the opportunity for change and growth and the understanding that each day is a blessing as well as an opportunity.
