Ms. Courtney Baittie has worked as a counselor for the past 7 years and currently holds licenses for practicing in both North Carolina and Illinois. her license in Illinois is called LPC or Licensed Professional Counselor, and her license in North Carolina is called LCMHC or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
Ms. Baittie received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University in Illinois. Illinois is where Courtney was born and raised, but four years ago they moved to North Carolina to support their fiancé in his job. In the past 7 years, Courtney became a Nationally Certified Counselor, as well as a Nationally Certified Trauma, Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist.
Throughout their years as a counselor, Courtney worked with domestic violence perpetrators and survivors, those who have court-ordered anger management and parenting classes, and those who need trauma counseling. I worked with individual clients who were in need of counseling for things such as Anxiety, Depression, Eating disorders, Bipolar disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, etc. They have worked with individuals of all colors, religions, genders (LGBTQ and more), and belief systems and have also provided Couples Counseling and Family Therapy. Their treatment approach is very person-centered, focused on you, the client, and what you want and are looking for. Courtney’s personal style is that the client is the driver and they, the therapist, are the passenger helping to guide you along. You, the client, are the one doing the work, setting the goals, they, the therapist, are helping provide you with ways to reach those goals.
Courtney recently gave birth to their first child, a little girl, and lives happily with their partner and their wonderful Husky. They love to read, run, hike, and be active outside and in nature. Courtney loves meeting new people, being social, and interacting with others. Working with others and helping others is their passion.
