Debbie Martinez, PHD

Dr. Martinez is a California Board of Psychology Licensed Psychologist.

Dr. Debbie Martinez, also known as “Dr. Deb,” graduated from Pomona College of the Claremont Colleges with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. From there, she went on to receive her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Family Track, from the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant International University). She has over 15 years of experience working in several clinical and counseling settings, including the nonprofit counseling setting, acute inpatient hospital setting, family clinic setting, private practice setting, and community college and primary school settings, where she has worked with populations that cross over all life spans. She has worked with individuals suffering from mild to severe mental illnesses, and also couples and families dealing with behavioral and emotional conflicts.

Dr. Deb believes in the power of personal change and utilizes the therapeutic relationship to help clients empower themselves towards that change. Of the utmost importance is creating an atmosphere of safety and freedom to help deepen the understanding of each individual client, and all aspects of his/her unique story. She works closely with clients to find meaning in their lives and solutions that work specifically for them. Some of her areas of focus include, but are not limited to, significant life adjustments, stress management, relationship improvement skills and communication skills, building self-esteem and confidence, loss and bereavement, depression and anxiety, substance abuse, domestic violence, and overall life success.
