Dr. Frances Morrison is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois.
Dr. Morrison earned her Doctor of Psychology degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She also earned a Master of Arts degree in School Psychology from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Loyola University in Chicago.
Dr. Morrison specializes in providing comprehensive mental health services to children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, autism, and gender identity issues.
She works with families in therapy developing and maintaining healthy boundaries, fostering cohesion and communication, reducing family conflict, building empathy and understanding among family members. Treatment modalities in practice include evidenced-based individual and family therapy, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Narrative therapy, and Supportive Therapy in order to help children and adolescents manage intense negative emotions, cope with stress, develop healthy relationships, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves.
Through her professional work and clinical training, Dr. Frances developed skills as a supportive, empathic, and intuitive therapist. She places a high value on building relationships, as well as, working cooperatively with family and educational systems. Furthermore, her far-reaching experience with all aspects of cultural diversity has led to a keen awareness and acceptance of all people.
Frances is a single mother and values the time spent with her son and large extended family. She enjoys music and movies when not outside hiking, kayaking, camping, or playing with the family’s new puppy. She works towards a balanced life for herself which includes love, laughter, and spirituality. Dr. Morrison believes in accepting and interacting with people in a genuine way. She uses the same approach to develop trusting and empathic therapeutic relationships with clients.
