Mr. James Stroud is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Mr. Stroud earned a Master of Arts in Counseling – Licensed Professional Counselor and a Masters of Arts in Counseling- Marriage and Family with additional emphasis in Trauma and Substance Abuse from LeTourneau University in 2018 and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and pursuing certification as a Marriage and Family Counselor. His degree is uniquely designed to prepare counselors for Christian service by emphasizing the integration of Christian theology and applied psychology to life and relationships. This includes work with individuals, couples, and families.

James has over 30 years of experience working with individuals and families during ongoing crises in a variety of settings. Before returning to school and completing his counseling education, he served as a police officer, elected Sheriff, business owner, and pastor. He has counseled others in many places including the home, office, business, church, school, recovery\rehabilitation facilities, jail, and prison.

Most of his life has been helping and serving others during and after very difficult and often tragic situations. He has worked extensively with women who experienced childhood domestic violence, substance abuse, sexual abuse, and abandonment.

Mr. Stroud has a unique perspective. As an adult, he has been exposed to the conditions or situations that wrongly influence our lives. There is not anything you need help with that would be unfamiliar. Bad things do happen to people daily. Sometimes intentionally, sometimes subtly, and sometimes it may simply be ‘what did not happen.

He is willing to do that in a way that best fits you. James learned that while serving Jesus you often must do things differently than you want to. This past year he heard a call to be willing to help others by not only empowering them during sessions but also let them choose the method of counseling. James has come to understand that many of you feel safe, more at ease, and comfortable in ‘your space’. He also understands many of you have busy lives and you just cannot fit the time in your schedule. Finally, Mr. Stroud knows some of you will never be able to walk into a strange place to meet with a stranger and share the deepest places in your life. He prays somehow that he might offer you hope right where you are.

Spending time together is an amazing thing. Nothing makes James happier than to help others. Each time someone allows him the opportunity to experience who they truly are, he becomes a better person. With His help, James’ hope is that you will too.
