Dr. Jana Downum, Ph.D. (preferred Dr. Jana) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor in the state of Texas and a Provisional Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida.

She was raised in Miami, Florida, and moved to Texas to attend university.

Dr. Jana worked for several years counseling individuals with developmental delays and then pursued biofeedback.

Her Ph.D. is in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University specializing in Psychophysiology/Biofeedback and her Bachelors and her Master of Arts are in Psychology from Texas Tech University. She now helps patients make the mind-body connection for physical and psychological change.

Dr. Jana has a desire to help individuals recognize their mind-body connection and how to help one help themself. She is a quiet, compassionate therapist who is passionate about educating clients on how to help themselves manage their psychophysiology. Her experience includes more than 20 years of experience counseling clients to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Dr. Jana thinks it is important to educate the client on their psychophysiology because once the client has an understanding, they can start using personalized mind-body strategies to improve their wellbeing.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling abroad and photography and is in a committed relationship.
