Ms. Janelle Gallardo is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who resides and practices in the state of California (LMFT 92997).

Ms. Gallardo received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University in Riverside, California. Janelle’s educational history includes specialization within forensics, trauma work, and grief therapy.

Janelle’s theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy within the adult population of her current work setting. Despite utilizing these orientations, Janelle has extensive experience developing treatment plans by incorporating models such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Play Therapy, Interpersonal Family Systems Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy based upon the client’s needs.

Janelle has experience providing mental health services to students through community college, with couples and families in outpatient private practice, with children in school systems and home-based programs, and with adult detention services. She has worked with clients with severe mental illness, dual diagnosis, personality disorders, crisis stabilization, and been 5150 certified. Janelle held a position working as a Student Health Education Specialist which involved organizing events and workshops on common mental health topics such as depression, anxiety, stress management, suicide prevention, health and wellness, and safety.

No matter what clinical setting she is at, Janelle offers a non-judgmental approach, highlights the importance of a good therapeutic alliance, and supports mental health treatment using the whole-body approach. Janelle recognizes the importance to not only address what is happening with the individual emotionally but also physically and spiritually. Janelle is passionate about the care she provides to her clients and will incorporate a collaborative style in order to encourage autonomy, strength, and growth.

In her free time, Janelle has a regular self-care routine that includes taking time for self by vacationing, cooking, meditating, baking, exercising, music, and family. She knows the importance of taking care of herself in order to in turn help others.
