Janet Joyce earned both a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University’s Pacific Graduate School of Psychology.

She enjoys working with people and considers herself a healer. She finds her work in mental health to be rewarding, challenging, energizing, and life affirming.

Joyce grew up in the Midwest and then moved to California where she attended high school, college, and graduate school. She moved to Boulder, Colorado, and lived there for 12 years before returning home to California. Her early and young adult experiences convinced her that being on a path of self-discovery and personal growth is where she is most challenged and rewarded. From that perspective, her professional work is a wonderful fit and helps her meet her clients “where they are” on that path. It also informs her commitment to help others discover their own journeys that meet their specific goals.

Joyce constantly strives to create a safe space where clients feel that they can be open and vulnerable. She uses compassion, creativity, sensitivity, and humor to help her clients reach their highest potentials.

She uses CBT in her treatment approach, but because she views each client as very individual and is both trained in and has experience in multiple modalities, she works with each client to create a treatment plan that uses evidence-based treatments best suited to their unique needs and goals.

Joyce is an avid reader. She also loves gardening, hiking, and birdwatching and is a passionate baker.
