Joy Diores received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from West Coast University and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Walden University. She is a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Joy was born in the Philippines. Her family moved to the United States when she was in middle school. In the Philippines, mental health challenges were not acknowledged or accepted, but hopefully that is changing. In the United States, people in the field are constantly looking for new treatments, medications, and access to care for clients who are experiencing mental health crises. Joy feels proud to contribute to this community and be part of the change in mental health care.
She started working as a caregiver for developmentally delayed clients when she was in high school. It was then that she realized that this is where she wanted to grow professionally to help those who require patience, care, and understanding. She has a soft spot for clients in the mental health community. She considers her work a rewarding passion rather than a job as she gets to help create hope and make positive changes in her clients’ lives.
When she isn’t working, Joy loves to spend time with her family. She loves to travel, learn, and explore different places. One of her favorite parts of traveling is getting to try different cuisines from all over the world.

Happier Living has been a breath of fresh air for me. My therapist and psychiatrist work together to provide the best care for me. I have never felt uncomfortable speaking openly to any of the staff and I am thankful to them for being able to answer any questions or concerns.
