Mrs. Judith Marie Watiti is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in both the states of Virginia and Texas as an Independent Practitioner. Also, she is independently licensed as a Chemical Dependency Counselor for the state of Texas. In addition, Judith is certified/licensed as a Trauma Care Specialist as well as a Clinical Supervisor (Interns/Residents).
Mrs. Watiti originally hails from Detroit, MI. She received her undergraduate degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit. Judith achieved her Master’s degree from Loma Linda Medical University (CA) majoring in Clinical Psychology and minoring in Neuropsychology.
Mrs. Watiti has been working as a Mental Health Professional & Educator for the past forty years. Some of her most salient roles in the profession are as follows: Private Practice, Associate Psychologist, Integrated Coordinator, Independent Assessor, Family Counselor, Drug Counselor, Women’s Advocate, Principal, Adjunct Instructor, Master Teacher, and Teacher. Judith’s favorite and most effective modalities include Trauma-informed Care, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Couples’ Therapy, and Group Therapy.
One of Judith’s favorite pastimes is hiking. She loves to discover beginner-friendly trails that boast all the beauty and natural habitat that nature can depict in a depreciating environment. Mrs. Watiti loves short-haired, family-friendly dogs, specifically, Labrador Retrievers and German Shepherds. She plans to raise two of each shortly and hopes to train them to play simple hymns on my piano!
Judith loves for patients/clients to discover who they really are and exemplify their potential(s) through natural remedies. Therefore, she fully endorses titrating Complementary & Alternative Medications (CAM) in lieu of traditional prescription meds when viable and physician-supervised.
