Leonid Kharin (Leo, for short) received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama and is a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Kharin is a dependable person and uses a creative approach to problem solving. He considers a combination of CBT and medicine the best evidence-based approach to mental health interventions. He stresses that therapy should be aimed at helping clients become as independent as possible and equipping them with skills and a problem-solving mindset. Prospective clients should know that every session will be as much a learning experience for Kharin as it is for them. His main goal is to help them and he will never  judge or look down on them. He sees his clients as equal partners in building a therapeutic relationship, and he is a compassionate person who can relate to their struggles.

Kharin grew up in the former Soviet Union and immigrated to the United States in 1999 from then-independent Belarus. He studied engineering and wanted to develop technology, but his career made a sharp turn to healthcare when he came to the United States. He found it challenging, interesting, and more rewarding than a career in technology development.

When Kharin isn’t working, he loves to be in nature and outdoors. He likes to garden and grow fruits and vegetables. He often goes to the beach.
