Ms. Melissa Macias is a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing in the state of California. Ms. Macias attended Marymount California University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology; then went on to receive her Master’s degree in Counseling; MFT emphasis from the California State University of Long Beach.

Ms. Macias has worked and gained experience in various settings; to include psychiatric hospitals, public schools, community outpatient clinics and county-operated clinics; all of which have had diverse populations and age groups, with symptoms ranging from mild to severe.

Ms. Macias specializes in working with individuals that have difficulty in managing depression, anxiety, poor self esteem, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorders and those with learning/developmental disorders and/or autism.

Ms. Macias has received the majority of her training in county mental health systems and also has knowledge of various evidence based practices, including certification in individual cognitive behavioral therapy from Los Angeles County’s Department of Mental Health.

Ms. Macias utilizes a strength based approach to help clients restore their sense of balance. Ms. Macias can provide guidance through her knowledge in cognitive and solution-focused therapy, while remaining collaborative and mindful of individuality, culture and background. Ms. Macias enjoys using an eclectic approach with clients, allowing for a more fluid and personalized treatment.

Ms. Macias’s goal is to be able to provide a safe and nurturing therapeutic experience to clients, so that they can improve their functioning and gain a healthier well-being.
