Ms. Merissa Goolsarran is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida.

Ms. Goolsarran graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Miami in 2013. She then graduated with her Master of Social Work from the University of Central Florida.

As a therapist, her mission is to listen, draw upon the client’s strengths, and provide insightful support along the way. Her goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where collaboration and empowerment can be achieved.

Merissa’s areas of specialty include working with those who are experiencing issues related to anxiety, major life changes, relationships, difficulty concentrating, chronic medical diagnoses, isolation, military/veteran readjustment, and identity. She also specializes in working with clients who are of Indo-Caribbean (West Indian) heritage and/or first-and second-generation immigrants. 

As a clinician, she draws upon mindfulness, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, amongst others. With an integrated approach, she works with clients to develop a plan that is unique and specialized for each concern. Her goal is to help clients find answers for themselves and be able to sustain their growth for the long term.

Throughout her educational career, she has studied Asian languages and continues to enjoy Japanese and Korean media (K-pop, anime, dramas, etc.). She also enjoys playing co-op video games and board games. For her, happier living also includes cooking meals without measurements and tending to her growing garden.
