Muriel Cormier holds a Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies from CSU Dominguez Hills and a Master in Social Work from CSU Long Beach.

Cormier is a native to the Southern California area. She was born in Los Angeles and attended schools, from elementary to college, in the area. She was raised Catholic, and a lot of time during childhood consisted of feeding the homeless. She has always had an affinity for helping others. Along with feeding the homeless, she was active in various groups that advocated for the disenfranchised. She appreciates seeing how her clients can change, heal, and develop positive coping skills.

Cormier  considers herself both calm and a very outwardly compassionate individual. She works as a team with her clients and will always be transparent about what she can and cannot do.

When she isn’t working, she likes to be outdoors. She hikes almost every weekend and meets with a run/walk group about four times a week. She also likes to travel and loves experiencing new cultures and being in different physical surroundings.
