Dr. Robin Ruth is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of California.
Dr. Ruth received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute with an emphasis in depth psychology. Dr. Ruth’s master’s degree is in Women’s Spirituality with an emphasis in transpersonal psychology and expressive arts.
Dr. Ruth has an integrative therapy style, which includes, but is not limited to, the following modalities: depth psychology, IFS (internal family systems), attachment theory, phototherapy, art therapy, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), exposure and response, narrative therapy, and women’s unique issues. Her focus of research, writing, and clinical experience has involved working with eating disorders at all levels of care, the concerns and treatment of body image and identity issues, the treatments for depression and anxiety, and how trauma affects the body. A specialty that Dr. Ruth has is in using visuals, in particular photographic portraits, in accessing and altering negative self stories, and re-writing these stories to more empowering and positive ones.
In her lifetime, she has experienced marriage, divorce, single parenting, financial hardship, starting and running her own business, and the care and death of her parents. Dr. Ruth is a lover of animals, especially dogs, and continually supports the rescue centers in the bay area. She enjoys being in nature, and can often be found hiking in Yosemite. Her biggest desire is to have therapy sessions outdoors in the natural environment with furry friends in tow!
