Sandra Schmidt is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has always had a desire to help people. She initially thought she would follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a nurse. But her mother guided her away from the field, and Sandra found social work to be a wonderful fit.
Sandra genuinely cares about her clients and strives to help them find ways to better cope with the challenges that they encounter in their lives. It is rewarding for her to see how people can grow and flourish when given the tools to succeed. CBT has always been her preferred approach. She also incorporates aspects of DBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing when applicable.
Sandra received her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSW) from George Mason University.
When she isn’t working, Sandra enjoys spending time with her dogs and her family, taking long walks on the beach and searching for shells.

I logged onto my meeting about five mins early, and the doctor let me in at the exact appointment time. We went over everything in my past and it felt like he was actually listening. I highly highly highly recommend this place. I never even review things but I’m so glad I found a psychiatrist.
