Theodore Gilbert is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina.

He has worked in various clinical settings ranging from outpatient therapy to residential treatment programs. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Social Work at Indiana University.

Theodore believes that the most important factor of successful treatment starts with establishing a genuine and quality relationship between the client and therapist. He has over 20 years of experience working with children, adults, and families with co-occurring disorders, and the expectation is that each person is treated with dignity and respect. He compassionately serves individuals who are interested in improving their lives by understanding their emotions and how those emotions are affecting their behaviors and actions.

Theodore uses an empathic approach to counseling that combines Solution Focused Brief Therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as other evidence-based approaches. He respects the client’s autonomy, therefore the therapeutic process is guided by the client and Theodore also meets every person wherever they are in their journey of healing. Theodore has assisted clients with insight building, empowerment, and healing that leads to meaningful change and growth in desired areas that result in a more fulfilling life experience.
