Mr. Virgil Miller is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist in Kansas (#2985) and a Registered Telehealth Provider in the state of Florida (#132).

Mr. Miller raised his family working as a toolmaker in the aircraft industry and when those job skills became obsolete, he went back to school and got his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wichita State University and his Master of Science degree in Family Therapy from Friends University. Family Therapy isn’t limited to marriage counseling; it is a way of looking at problems in living and takes into account the larger environment, or systems, in which these problems occur.

Mr. Miller has treated a variety of clients with a variety of problems ranging from adolescents in a children’s psych hospital to psychotic murderers in state prison where he became fascinated with psychological trauma. Over time it has become apparent that trauma is behind many of the things that people wish would not happen in their lives.

His primary treatment modalities are solution-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapies augmented by mindful awareness as well as relaxation and thought-stopping coping strategies.
