Anthony Nigro is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY State. He completed a BA in History, M.Ed. in Counseling and MBA in Health Care Administration at the State University of NY at Buffalo. He also did doctoral work in Health Education at the State University of NY at Buffalo and post masters work at Medaille College in Buffalo.
Tony has held clinical and managerial roles in a variety of outpatient and inpatient settings. He is interested in trauma work, helping people with dual diagnosis and addiction. He trained in Person Centered Therapy and has trained others in this area. He was a leader in advocating for peer services and collaboration at Buffalo Psychiatric Center. His work in integrating physical and mental health services was the basis for the Healthy People 2000 initiative of the state office of mental health. His work is published in a variety of peer reviewed journals.
Tony has been married for 38 years . He and his best friend/ wife Kathy have 2 adult children and a large brood of rescue pets. He is also an accomplished blues harmonica player .
