Dr. Stacey Heit, is licensed and board-certified in adult psychiatry. She completed a B.A. at the University of Texas in Austin. She went on to complete her M.D. degree at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. She spent her first two years of psychiatry residency at the University of Chicago, then moved to Atlanta, completing the remaining two years of residency at Emory University.
Dr. Heit provides comprehensive psychiatric care for adults. She has worked extensively in private practice, combining psychotherapy and medication treatment. She also has experience working in emergency rooms, general hospitals, and psychiatric inpatient hospitals. Her desire to provide outpatient psychiatric care in a telemedicine setting brought her to Happier Living. The heart of her practice involves getting to know her patients well in order to help them to feel better, function at their best, and maintain stability over time. She stays up to date with psychiatric research and standard practices. Dr. Heit places a high value on autonomy and believes that each patient should be an informed and active participant in treatment. She enjoys helping people find their strengths, build resilience, and broaden their understanding of themselves and the world around them. She believes that a strong, trusting, therapeutic relationship between patient and psychiatrist is the basis for successful treatment.
Dr. Heit enjoys spending time with her family. She loves to go on trips, hike, camp, ride horses, garden, and watch the birds come and go from her bird feeders. She is a daily yoga and meditation practitioner.
