Dr. Deanna Ryerson, PhD is a compassionate and experienced Clinical Psychologist. Naturally empathetic, Dr. Ryerson derives joy and fulfillment from helping others achieve their highest potential and overcome adversity.
Dr. Ryerson earned her MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University CSPP. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor's in Liberal Arts from Menlo College in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her journey into psychology began in her middle and high school years, where she found the study of human behavior and motivation fascinating. Originally from Colorado, Dr. Ryerson moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for college and spent 11 years there before returning to Colorado and eventually settling in Vermont.
Dr. Ryerson meets her clients wherever they are in life, providing support and encouragement to help them thrive. She finds the field of mental health highly rewarding and is continually motivated to excel. She believes that trust and rapport are the cornerstones of effective therapy, and creating a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their challenges is of utmost importance to her. A compassionate and supportive psychotherapist, Dr. Ryerson is dedicated to helping clients achieve their wellness goals through therapy.
Dr. Ryerson's treatment approach is grounded in theory and evidence-based practices. She believes it is crucial to have a strong foundation in tried-and-true treatment approaches while maintaining an open and ongoing dialogue with clients about what is working and what is not. This continual feedback loop allows her to tailor her approach to each person's unique goals and life circumstances.
Dr. Ryerson is reliable, trustworthy, and non-judgmental. She is committed to listening, sharing, and guiding her clients as they find their way. Her passion for helping others has kept her dedicated to her field for nearly 25 years, and she continues to learn and grow with each person she works with. Dr. Ryerson believes that often, people have the answers within themselves, but it is much harder to find those answers when they are alone. Her job is to be there for them, to support, listen, and guide them on their journey.
Outside of work, Dr. Ryerson enjoys spending time with her two daughters, gardening, and working on home projects. She finds therapeutic value in activities like remodeling, creating, and crafting. Additionally, she enjoys going to the gym, hiking, and watching movies with her family. Dr. Ryerson describes herself as hard-working, loyal, and a bit of an introvert. She feels most herself when working and finds immense reward in being a trusted confidant for her clients.
