Jennifer Arzate is a Board Certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who grew up in Chicago, a culturally and socioeconomically diverse city. Her grandmother, a World War II Japanese internment camp survivor, instilled in her the importance of community, cultivating a positive outlook, and being accepting of and advocating for others.

Jennifer has always found joy and inspiration in learning about people and how they experience the world. But it was during her nursing school’s psychiatric rotation that she was drawn to the mental health field. She finds the work gratifying and enriching as it allows her to get to know her clients and lend a helping hand while they navigate and overcome life’s obstacles.

Jennifer has worked in the mental health field for about 14 years, both in the acute inpatient psychiatric care setting and as a psychiatric liaison consultant, primarily in an ER setting with a focus on crisis intervention.

Jennifer strives to create a warm, client-centered, and non-judgmental space that will foster optimal outcomes for each individual with whom she works. She believes that knowledge is power; one way that she enjoys empowering her clients is through the use of psychoeducation.

Jennifer received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Azusa Pacific University and is board certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of St. Francis.

When she isn’t working, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her loved ones and loves all things outdoors. She enjoys hiking, running, camping, sailing, and rock-climbing. She also loves to travel and explore new places, both close and far away.
