Dr. Joel Fick holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Music Performance from Gustavus Adolphus College

Dr. Fick uses CBT as well as other evidenced-based best practices like DBT and mindfulness and uses an eclectic approach to best help people. He has been working in psychology since 1992 and has been licensed since 2002 but is continually learning and growing. He tries to take research and apply it in ways that are helpful to learn about why we do the things we do and develop healthy routines to have the longest, healthiest, and happiest lives possible.

For Dr. Fick, the most important piece of therapy is feeling comfortable with your therapist. This allows for trust to develop so that healing and growth can occur.

Dr. Fick grew up in the Upper Midwest and attended college there. He has always enjoyed listening to people and learning from them and helping others. He has been involved in music all of his life, but the desire to help others led him to graduate school and to becoming a psychologist.

In his free time, Dr. Fick loves music and hiking or walking on the beach. He also likes to travel and learn about new places.
