Meredith Press is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in mental health. Born and raised in Florida, Meredith has always been deeply fascinated by the human mind, an interest shaped by witnessing her brother's recovery journey and personal experiences growing up amidst family challenges. As a native Floridian, Meredith's drive to make a difference has always been close to her heart, leading her to dedicate her life to supporting individuals in their mental health journey.
Meredith earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing. She then received her Master of Science in Nursing from Nova Southeastern University, becoming well-equipped to pursue her passion for helping others.
In her practice, Meredith adopts a holistic approach to care, prioritizing patient involvement in the treatment process. She firmly believes that clients should have a voice in their care, emphasizing collaboration and ensuring that their thoughts and feelings about the treatment process are heard. Meredith values each client’s unique journey, understanding that their experiences cannot be fully captured by a diagnosis. She often reminds her clients that their diagnosis does not define who they truly are. She strives to create a nurturing and honest space for growth, where clients feel empowered to share and reflect on their experiences.
Meredith describes herself as outgoing, honest, and passionate about the work she does. She is continuously learning, embracing the idea that growth is a lifelong process not only for her clients but for herself as well. "I am here to learn and grow myself; I am never always right," she says, underlining her humility and openness in the therapeutic relationship. She finds immense fulfillment in listening to people's stories—understanding where they come from and how they got to where they are today. For Meredith, these genuine connections are the heart of her work and what keeps her going every day.
Outside of her professional life, Meredith loves spending time with her kids, her beloved cat, and her little family. She enjoys staying active on her Peloton and embracing the joys of her family life. Meredith's passion for mental health is evident in her unwavering dedication, and she truly means it when she says she loves what she does. Her clients can always expect a compassionate and empathetic partner in their mental health journey, someone who genuinely cares and is committed to making a difference.
