Ms. Stacy Albarran is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-CP), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of South Carolina. Although she is originally from NY, Ms. Albarran received both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Master of Social Work at the University of South Carolina. She is a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Ms. Albarran has over 30 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families providing the full array of mental health services in outpatient, school, home, and community settings. During her time working in community mental health, she became a Licensed Supervisor and Program Director (2000) and never stopped providing direct services as a therapist. She has extensive experience working with those experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, family conflict, parenting, relationship challenges, transition, and loss.
Ms. Albarran incorporates a trauma-informed culturally sensitive. approach and uses evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems theory, mindfulness, DBT Skills, and EFT (Tapping) while helping you reach your individual goals. She provides a supportive environment where you can feel safe to explore what's holding you back from having the life you desire. She knows that change can be very difficult, for some, asking for help is the hardest thing they will ever do. She is a strong advocate and is committed to helping others learn to embrace their courage and resilience.
In 2017 Ms. Albarran retired from the State of SC to spend more time with her teenage son and work from home. She continues to provide Therapy, Consultation and Supervision to therapists seeking their License in Professional Counseling or
Marriage and Family Therapy. She knows it's important to "practice what you preach" and believes self development is a lifelong journey.
Ms. Albarran loves spending time with her husband and son, they have 2 small dogs including a puppy they added to the family in May, 2020. She spends as much time outside as possible, enjoys traveling, watching movies and everyone knows "the beach is my happy place".
