Diana Adams is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Growing up and starting her nursing career in New York City, Diana has always been recognized for her natural ability to connect with people and make them feel understood and supported.
Diana earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Adelphi University. She later completed her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Pace University and obtained her Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Miami University. Diana holds board certifications from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as both an FNP and a PMHNP.
Diana believes that, like any relationship, the therapeutic one requires nurturing, trust, time, and effort. She is dedicated to helping her clients process their experiences and improve their mental health, using her skills to foster a supportive and understanding environment. Diana’s approach is grounded in Existential Therapy, which encourages clients to explore their freedom of choices and their purpose in life. She firmly believes that everyone has a reason to live and a unique purpose to fulfill.
Clients often describe Diana as trustworthy, sincere, caring, involved, and present. She has always been told how easy she is to talk to, and how well she listens without judgment. These qualities drew her to the mental health field, where she could use her natural empathy and problem-solving skills to help others find solutions to their concerns. Diana’s patients are her motivation, and their progress and resilience keep her committed to the field of mental health.
Diana's journey into mental health was influenced by her diverse nursing experiences, which began at the NYU Rehabilitative Center, followed by roles in Neurosurgery and Women's Health. In 2008, she moved to Florida to be closer to her family and to explore new opportunities. The transition was challenging, but it also opened doors to new learning experiences and connections that deepened her interest in mental health.
Outside of work, Diana enjoys spending quality time with her children, helping them navigate life's challenges and watching them grow into their best selves. She loves staycations in Florida, riding her bike, exercising, staying connected with long-distance friends, and relaxing with a good Netflix series. Diana is committed to being there for her clients, offering them the support and guidance they need to improve their mental health and overall well-being.
