Kristen Jensen is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California.
Kristen received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at California Polytechnic University, Pomona. From there, she attended The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Irvine and received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a Marital and Family Therapy specialization.
She has worked as a therapist in various settings including providing in-home behavior intervention for children on the Autism Spectrum, school counseling (grades K-8), private practice, residential substance abuse treatment, and Adult In-Home Crisis Stabilization for the county of Orange.
Her primary specialties are working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and parents/caregivers for children on the Autism Spectrum. However, she is also experienced in treating a wide range of presenting concerns including anxiety, grief and loss, substance use, suicidality, and phase of life issues. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adult from culturally diverse backgrounds with mild to severe symptoms.
Kristen works predominantly from the Client-Centered and Solution-Focused models. However, she utilizes a variety of evidence-based approaches in her treatment of clients to attend to the unique needs and challenges of each individual. She also prides herself on fostering genuine therapeutic connections with her clients as well as an honest, transparent, and non-judgemental therapeutic environment.
