Dr. Steve Rolnick, PhD, is a dedicated psychologist with a deep passion for helping individuals explore their thoughts and emotions in a supportive environment. With a friendly, intellectually curious, and empathetic nature, he strives to assist clients in identifying what they value most and working towards meaningful changes in their lives and relationships.
Dr. Rolnick earned his Ph.D. in Guidance and Psychological Services from Indiana State University, where he was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi National Academic Honor Society. He also holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University, where he was honored with the Thesis of the Year Award, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with honors from Denison University. During his undergraduate studies, he was a member of Psi Chi, the National Psychology Honorary, and Sigma Xi, the National Scientific Research Society.
His journey into psychology was influenced by his early exposure to the field through his mother, a trained child psychoanalyst under the mentorship of Anna Freud. Inspired by the meaningful engagement of his introductory psychology courses, Dr. Rolnick pursued his passion for understanding human behavior and supporting personal growth.
Dr. Rolnick's approach to therapy is rooted in creating a safe and open space where clients feel comfortable expressing their experiences and concerns. He incorporates a blend of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral techniques, family systems therapy, solution-focused strategies, acceptance and commitment therapy, values-based approaches, and mindfulness practices. His goal is to empower clients to align their actions with their values and achieve positive, lasting change.
Having grown up in Cleveland, Ohio, with his parents and sister, Dr. Rolnick's academic and professional journey has taken him across various regions of Ohio before his career led him westward into diverse behavioral healthcare roles. His extensive experience allows him to tailor his approach to meet the unique needs of each client he serves.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Rolnick enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children and embracing his new role as a grandfather. He finds joy in music, playing guitar and bass, attending concerts, and staying active through hiking and biking. He values connection with friends and looks forward to expanding his horizons through travel.
