Elina has a Bachelors from the University of Santa Cruz, where she majored in Psychology and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. She is an eclectic therapist, which means that she doesn’t stick to any one approach. Elina uses different approaches based on my client’s specific needs. Some of the approaches that she uses are CBT, psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused therapy, supportive therapy, client-centered therapy, and humanistic therapy to name a few
In your sessions, the two of you will engage in an open process where you can safely explore your feelings, thoughts, beliefs, wishes, and behaviors. Her expertise will help you to understand the underlying causes of your current difficulties. In therapy, together you will clarify how your emotions and thoughts impact your everyday experiences and relationships, and Elina will work with you to solve problems by identifying patterns that may be connected to your distress. She believes through therapy, as awareness is raised and insights are established, shifts and changes can be made for the betterment of your life.
Her areas of experience are substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
She specializes in the following issues: ADHD, behavioral issues, codependency, coping skills, family issues, relationship issues, marital issues, Bipolar II Disorder, life transitions, self-esteem, women’s issues, life coaching, and stress.
Elina looks forward to working with you!
