"Ms. Marylee Nambu, M.A., LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 9 years of collective clinical experience in the private practice setting, the school-site setting, and the hospital setting.
Ms. Nambu earned her Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute. Her areas of interest as a clinician are complex trauma (repeated childhood trauma), phase II addiction recovery (getting beyond addiction to the deeper issues driving addictive behavior), obsessive-compulsive disorder, and the integration of spirituality/faith with the science of psychology. Other clinical issues with which she has assisted clients are depression, anxiety, self-injury, bodily dysmorphic disorder, and eating disorders. She places great emphasis on the therapeutic relationship.
Marylee strives to collaboratively cultivate a safe space in which clients may explore and understand their inner life, the feelings they experience, and how this affects their being in the context of relationships as well as, how they respond to life circumstances and the world around them. She is qualified to provide supervision for MFT trainees and interns. Her two undergraduate degrees are in multiple subject area teaching (elementary education) and music education. Marylee finds joy in meaningful time spent with family and friends, music, nature, and art.
