Lloyd Gallimore, NP, is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Growing up in rural Appalachia, Lloyd was surrounded by a community where many people lacked adequate healthcare. His parents instilled in him the values of hard work and helping the underserved, shaping his passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Lloyd earned his LPN and ADN.RN from Southern State College, followed by a BSN.RN from Mercy College of Ohio. He then completed his MSN.CNP from Ohio University and achieved his PMHNP-BC from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Throughout his career, Lloyd has exclusively focused on psychiatric mental health treatment, continuously working and honing his skills to better serve his patients.

Lloyd describes himself as positive, encouraging, kind, and understanding. His journey into the field of mental health began during his first clinical rotation in nursing school, where he quickly realized that many patients were underserved and often misunderstood. Witnessing caregivers who lacked the knowledge, compassion, and expertise to provide the necessary care, Lloyd felt compelled to make a difference. His dedication to psychiatric mental health has been recognized by Mercy Hospital, where he was nominated three times for their highest awards for excellence in care.

Lloyd believes that the therapeutic relationship, like any other, requires nurturing, trust, time, and work. He provides his clients with insights into their challenges, empowering them to develop solutions and improve their interpersonal relationships. Lloyd uses humor to ease tension during sessions and values feedback from his clients, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Lloyd's commitment to mental health extends beyond his clinical practice. He has been an ordained pastor for over 20 years, and his church, with the help of community partners, operates a pantry that provides food to over 250 families monthly. This connection allows Lloyd to interact with people from many walks of life and heightens his awareness of the needs in his community.

The most important thing for clients to know about Lloyd is that he believes in them. He believes that everyone can live their best life and that nothing is impossible. His career progression from a Licensed Practical Nurse to a Certified Nurse Practitioner reflects his dedication to continuous learning and expertise in behavioral health, ensuring that he remains attuned to his patients' needs through ongoing education and hands-on experience.

Lloyd Gallimore's passion for psychiatric mental health, combined with his compassionate approach and extensive experience, has brought health and healing to his patients. His commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others continues to drive his work, and he remains dedicated to helping his clients achieve their best possible outcomes.

Outside of his professional life, Lloyd enjoys spending time with his friends and family, including his three grandchildren. He loves being outdoors on the lake, boating and fishing, and vacationing at the ocean in North Carolina. Additionally, he plays several instruments, including the piano and guitar, finding joy and relaxation in music.
