Rome Evangelista is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care. Growing up in the heart of Los Angeles, in the historic Filipino town, Rome became acutely aware of the misunderstandings and stigma surrounding mental health. This early awareness shaped his passion for psychiatry, driving him to become a provider who ensures his clients feel seen, heard, and supported.
Rome earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from West Coast University. His clinical approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and collaboration. He believes that mental health care is not just about addressing symptoms—it’s about empowering individuals to regain control over their lives, find hope, and move toward a future they can feel good about. He incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and talk therapy into his sessions, ensuring clients not only receive treatment but also the guidance and support needed to navigate their mental health journey.
Rome understands that no two individuals are alike, and he strives to meet each client where they are. His goal is to create a judgment-free space where clients feel comfortable discussing their struggles, knowing they are being heard and understood. His clients often describe him as understanding, appreciative, and helpful, traits that guide his therapeutic approach. Whether someone is facing a crisis, processing past trauma, or working toward long-term stability, Rome is committed to providing the support they need to take meaningful steps forward.
What keeps Rome dedicated to this field is the resilience of the people he works with. He finds fulfillment in witnessing moments of progress, no matter how small. Seeing someone regain confidence, discover new coping mechanisms, or simply feel understood reinforces his passion for mental health care.
For Rome, being a mental health provider isn’t just a career—it’s a commitment to making a real difference in people’s lives. He approaches every session with the belief that a little understanding and support can go a long way in helping someone find stability, purpose, and hope.
Outside of work, Rome is always on the move—whether he’s lifting at the gym, practicing MMA, or exploring new restaurants. He sees food as a great way to de-stress and connect with others. He also enjoys video games as a way to unwind and challenge himself.
