Born and raised in Cuba, Yanet spent the first 13 years of her life surrounded by a community where mental health was often misunderstood and under-resourced. This early exposure ignited a lifelong passion to help others feel seen, supported, and empowered in their emotional and psychological journeys. After immigrating to the United States as a teenager, she navigated a new language, culture, and environment—experiences that deeply shaped her empathy, resilience, and drive to serve.
Yanet earned her Master of Science in Nursing from St. Thomas University and is double board certified by both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Bilingual in English and Spanish, she specializes in working with young adults navigating stress, burnout, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. Yanet also has a deep commitment to working with children and adolescents, tailoring treatment approaches to meet their developmental needs and involving families in a holistic healing process.
In her practice, Yanet combines clinical expertise with warmth, humility, and a collaborative spirit. She believes that just like any meaningful relationship, the therapeutic alliance requires trust, mutual respect, and shared goals. Her approach is holistic and patient-centered—emphasizing not only symptom management but also lifestyle, identity, cultural context, and long-term well-being.
Yanet often incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into her work, empowering clients to understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact. She works closely with each patient to co-create a treatment plan that reflects their unique story and values, integrating evidence-based techniques, mindfulness, and exploration of lifestyle factors like sleep, nutrition, and stress management.
Above all, Yanet is deeply committed to creating a safe, welcoming space where patients feel heard and never judged. She values feedback, invites open dialogue, and believes that healing is not a linear process—but a journey walked side-by-side. Her ultimate goal is to help individuals build resilience, reconnect with their strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change.
If you’re navigating life transitions, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or struggling with your mental health, Yanet wants you to know: you don’t have to go through it alone. She brings not only professional skill but also personal empathy to every session, honoring the courage it takes to seek support.
Outside of her professional work, Yanet’s greatest joy is her family. A proud mom of two energetic children, she spends much of her free time cheering from the sidelines at their soccer games, enjoying family dinners, and soaking in the small, grounding moments that make life meaningful. Her family life inspires and fuels her work, reminding her every day that strong mental health starts with strong, supportive relationships.
