Patricia Grayson, DNP, ARNP, is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with a deep commitment to providing compassionate, personalized care. Growing up in an underserved area of Chicago, Illinois, Patricia witnessed firsthand the challenges her community faced due to mental illness, inspiring her to dedicate her career to helping others manage their mental health and well-being.
Patricia's educational journey reflects her dedication to nursing and mental health. She began her career by earning her Licensed Practical Nurse Certificate from Dawson Technical Institute and then completed her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Olive Harvey Community College. Building on this foundation, Patricia pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain University, followed by two Master of Science degrees in Nursing Informatics and Family Nurse Practice, also from Chamberlain University. To further specialize in mental health, Patricia earned a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of St. Francis and, most recently, completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Frontier Nursing University.
Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Patricia brings expertise in caring for individuals across various mental health conditions, including major depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and substance use. She is dedicated to building trusting relationships with her clients, fostering an environment of clear communication and transparency to support each client’s unique needs and goals. Patricia’s treatment approach incorporates evidence-based therapeutic practices and encourages clients to actively engage in “homework” exercises, helping them build essential coping skills for long-term emotional and behavioral growth.
Patricia believes that a successful therapeutic relationship requires mutual trust, time, and effort, and she values honest feedback from clients to continually improve their shared journey. Known for her empathy, reliability, and adaptability, Patricia works closely with her clients to empower them in their mental health journey.
Outside of work, Patricia enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, cooking, and exercising. She finds relaxation and fulfillment in reading, where she enjoys learning new perspectives and knowledge. Patricia is a proud member of the AANC, AANP, and Sigma Theta Tau, and volunteers her time with the Salem Baptist Church of Chicago. Through her work and personal life, Patricia is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those she serves.
