Amara Ezumah received her Bachelor of Science in Community Public Health from San Francisco State University. She received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and her Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Charles R. Drew University.
She was born in Nigeria and raised in Los Angeles where she attended private school. Her parents worked hard to give her and her siblings everything they needed. Throughout her life’s journey, Amara has experienced many types of people with different backgrounds. This sparked her interest in people and what drives them emotionally. Throughout her career as an RN, she would always fall into deep conversation with her patients about their lives, background, and how they were currently feeling. She has always believed that one’s emotional state gears their physical self.
It was Amara’s passion for complete and inclusive health (mind, body, and soul) that drew her to the field. Her treatment approach is to work with her clients and together find a sustainable method for their treatment. Amara uses her knowledge in CBT and evidence-based methods along with her clients’ knowledge of themselves to begin their journey to wellness.
When she isn’t working, Amara loves to work out. She has played basketball her whole life. She also enjoys watching her eldest son play football and spending quality time with her family. She loves to experience good food and watch a good movie. She has three sons, so she hardly gets a moment to read books, but she has some on her list, which she will get to soon. She also attends church weekly.
