Amy Salley is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Originally from a suburb just outside of Detroit, she was drawn to the field of mental health early on by a deep curiosity about the human mind and a desire to create more compassionate, accessible care. Growing up in an environment where mental illness and addiction were present in her family, Amy experienced firsthand the impact of stigma and the importance of support—both personally and professionally. These early experiences sparked her lifelong commitment to helping others feel seen, heard, and empowered in their healing journey.

Amy began her career as a Registered Nurse and later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Nursing from Wayne State University, solidifying her path as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

Amy’s approach is rooted in empathy, education, and shared decision-making. She believes clients are experts in their own lives and works collaboratively to ensure they feel informed and confident throughout their care. Her clinical work is person-centered, culturally competent, and trauma-informed, drawing on techniques such as motivational interviewing and DBT skills to support resilience and promote meaningful change. Amy also brings experience in dual diagnosis treatment, approaching both mental health and substance use concerns with a nonjudgmental, strengths-based mindset.

Describing herself as compassionate, adaptable, curious, and dedicated, Amy is committed to creating a safe, inclusive space for all—especially those from marginalized communities. She is a proud LGBTQ+ ally and fierce animal lover who values authenticity, growth, and building strong therapeutic relationships.
Now based in San Francisco, Amy enjoys exploring her new city, hiking, relaxing in the park, and veganizing recipes in her kitchen. When she’s not outdoors, you’ll likely find her deep in a video game or emotionally invested in a reality TV show.
