Asa T. Briggs is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice, with a passion for providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care to individuals from all walks of life. Growing up in rural South Carolina, Asa witnessed firsthand the challenges that people in low-resource communities face in accessing quality mental health services. This experience ignited his commitment to improving psychiatric care for marginalized populations, a mission that continues to drive his work today.

Asa began his educational journey at Clemson University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. His desire to understand human behavior and development led him to Trevecca Nazarene University, where he completed a Master of Arts in Human Development and Psychology. Asa then pursued his calling in mental health by earning a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health from Vanderbilt University. To further refine his expertise and leadership in the field, he earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Mental Health from Yale University.

In his practice, Asa believes that collaboration is at the heart of effective mental health care. He works closely with his patients to develop therapeutic goals that are tailored to their unique needs, recognizing that one size does not fit all. Asa’s approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a method that has guided his practice for nearly two decades. He is dedicated to empowering his patients to take an active role in their treatment, helping them build the skills and resilience needed to overcome challenges and lead fulfilling lives.

Asa T. Briggs is not just a practitioner but a partner in his patients' journeys toward mental wellness. He is committed to helping each person he works with live a life of meaning and purpose, and he is honored to be a part of their path to healing.

Outside of work, Asa is an easy-going and friendly individual who enjoys playing golf, traveling, and exploring cuisines from various cultures. His passion for life is matched by his dedication to his patients, and he looks forward to continuing his work in the community, knowing that the care he provides is making a meaningful difference in the lives of those he serves.
