Macbarbara Amaechi received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specialization from Walden University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from University of Texas Medical Branch–Galveston. She is licensed in both Washington and Texas.

Macbarbara grew up in Africa where she spent a lot of time caring for her grandmother. When she moved to the United States, she saw how being caring and compassionate could play a large part in positive health outcomes. She is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about providing psychiatric care to people with mental illness. She uses innovative, evidence-based practices to reach the desired outcome across the lifespan.

She is a great listener. Her approach toward her clients is individualized care that addresses their needs and reaches their goals. Safety is always a priority. Macbarbara decided to go into the field because she wanted to do something challenging and she wanted to help people gain confidence around their mental health. It is the positive impact she sees in her clients’ mental health that keeps her going.

When she isn’t working, Macbarbara enjoys going on vacation and listening to music.
