Milena Boursiquot received her Bachelor of Arts in Deviant Behavior and Social Control from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Nyack College.
She strives to build a trustworthy, therapeutic relationship, one in which her clients won’t feel judged or uncomfortable. She encourages them to be themselves by providing empathy, compassion and emotional support. She supports them as they navigate their personal challenges to reach their individual healing and achieve a happier way of life.
Her approach is client centered and multisystemic. She uses DBT and motivational interviewing.
Boursiquot’s parents immigrated to the United States from South America before she was born and paved the way for her generation. She grew up in New Jersey, and her interest in the mental health field started when she was young. She has worked with all ages and those who have experienced sexual victimization, financial exploitation, depression, homelessness, domestic violence, trauma, behavioral issues, and anxiety.
She enjoys serving others. Boursiquot feels it is essential for people to have a solid support system that will help them navigate through the challenging times in their lives with the tools they need to lead a good quality of life.
When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family. She loves dancing, the outdoors, eating good food, the ocean, and traveling.
