Mrs. Nalini Persaud is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New York.
Mrs. Persaud received her Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2006; and her Master’s degree in Social Work from CUNY Lehman College in 2014.
Nalini is passionate about working with clients to help them to better understand their thoughts and feelings. She provides a comfortable treatment setting to ensure that a person can fully express themselves in a safe space.
Mrs. Persaud has worked in a variety of clinical settings including domestic violence/homeless shelters, emergency psychiatric teams, and private practice. She has over 14 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families with a wide range of challenges and issues. Some of the issues she specializes in include depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship problems, substance abuse, divorce, parenting struggles, and crisis stabilization. Nalini is compassionate and understands that the first step in receiving treatment is sometimes the most difficult; and will help you feel comfortable discussing any issues that you may have in order to figure out the best approaches to tackle them with. She uses evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
Nalini has a very creative side which includes painting and baking/decorating cakes and cupcakes. Her favorite place to be is on a beach listening to the calming waves while reading a good book. She understands and appreciates how important self-care is to one’s body and mind and reflects this idea in her treatment sessions.
