Mrs. Persaud has worked in a variety of clinical settings including domestic violence/homeless shelters, emergency psychiatric teams, and private practice. She has over 14 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families with a wide range of challenges and issues. Some of the issues she specializes in include depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship problems, substance abuse, divorce, parenting struggles, and crisis stabilization. Nalini is compassionate and understands that the first step in receiving treatment is sometimes the most difficult; and will help you feel comfortable discussing any issues that you may have in order to figure out the best approaches to tackle them with. She uses evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.

Nalini has a very creative side which includes painting and baking/decorating cakes and cupcakes. Her favorite place to be is on a beach listening to the calming waves while reading a good book. She understands and appreciates how important self-care is to one’s body and mind and reflects this idea in her treatment sessions.
