Shalesse Gardner is a Board Certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who grew up in Compton, California. She started as a CNA at a locked facility in her neighborhood and had a natural affinity with helping the residents by listening thoroughly and having patience with problem solving.
Shalesse loves what she does so much that it doesn’t feel like work to her. If there is something unfamiliar to her, she will always try to find a solution and enjoys attending seminars and symposiums to stay up-to-date on best evidence-based practice for care management. She believes that transparency is the key to positive outcomes.
Shalesse received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an Exercise Science emphasis from California State University, Long Beach. She received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Charles R. Drew University and her Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from California State University, Long Beach.
When Shalesse isn’t working, she enjoys her newest hobby: creating chocolate covered strawberry designs. She also likes to travel.
