Dr. Anand Jayanti is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with a passion for helping individuals and families enhance their communication and emotional understanding. Born in India and raised throughout America, Dr. Jayanti's multicultural upbringing has deeply influenced his empathetic approach to psychiatry. As a child, he was often described as a "thinker," a trait that led him to express his feelings through art and writing. However, it was during his young adulthood that he realized the importance of not only thinking but also speaking openly about his emotions, a journey that continues to shape his professional and personal life.

Dr. Jayanti's academic journey is marked by a commitment to excellence and a dedication to understanding the complexities of the human mind. He earned his medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine and continued his training at The University of Texas at Austin. He completed his residency at the UT Health Science Center in Tyler and pursued a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at UT Dell in Austin. These experiences provided him with a robust foundation in psychiatric principles and practices.

Dr. Jayanti believes that improving communication is key to enhancing wellbeing in relationships. Throughout his life, he observed how misunderstandings between people often stemmed not from bad intentions but from a lack of tools to understand and communicate their feelings. This realization drew him to the field of psychiatry, where he finds fulfillment in helping others navigate their emotional landscapes. He sees his role as both an honor and a humbling experience, as clients share their vulnerabilities with him on their journey to a more meaningful life.

Dr. Jayanti's treatment approach is centered around Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which he has been exploring with a peer group in Austin. He believes this method, with its individual and family versions, offers a fundamental understanding of emotions that can lead to lasting benefits in relationships. He is eager to share the insights gained from EFT with his clients, helping them build more secure and fulfilling connections.

Described as curious, patient, humor-seeking, and hard-working, Dr. Jayanti brings a unique blend of qualities to his practice. He uses humor to create a relaxed and open atmosphere in sessions, fostering an environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences. His curiosity drives him to continually seek new knowledge and techniques, ensuring that his clients receive the most effective care.

Dr. Jayanti's holistic approach to psychiatry emphasizes the importance of understanding the whole person, not just their diagnosis. He is dedicated to helping his clients improve their communication skills and emotional awareness, leading to more fulfilling and secure relationships. Through his compassionate and insightful practice, Dr. Jayanti strives to make a positive impact on the lives of those he serves.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Jayanti enjoys a variety of creative and recreational activities. He writes children's poetry, draws caricatures, and reads mythology, all of which reflect his deep appreciation for storytelling and the arts. He also stays active by working out and enjoys the camaraderie and laughter that come with performing stand-up comedy and spending time with friends.
